The difference between and ASE Certified Master Mechanic and an ASE Certified Mechanic is that a Master Mechanic must be certified in all areas of automotive diagnostics and repair. If you see that a service shop posts ASE Certifications, pay attention to the detail of the certificate. Sometimes the mechanic is only certified in one area of repair, like suspensions or brakes, for instance. It is important, especially with today's technology changing so rapidly, that you have a mechanic who is certified in all areas of automotive repair.
