If you are ready to buy a home please strongly consider getting your own Realtor representation. It does not cost you any more to have a Realtor looking out for your rights and interests. It can make a difference! Be very aware of "neutral agency" relationships. In a neutral agency relationship the primary goal becomes closing the transaction. Agents often make up to 50% more commission by this practice. You want an agent showing you all of the homes that could be right for you, not just their personal listings. In my opinion you should always have an agent under contract who has a fiduciary responsibility to you. This can very strongly affect the outcome of any transaction. I am personally very happy to engage in buyer representation or listing representation but mostly avoid the area of "neutral representation."
